Kosiski Finishes 2nd at Adams County
Andrew Kosiski and Team 53 rode into the Adams County Speedway - Corning IA Saturday night coming off a strong performance last weekend, and followed it with another 2nd place finish in the 30 lap main event. With the finish AK takes over sole possession of 4th place in the Malvern Bank Super Late Model Racing (SLMR) Series points standings after six events in the 2021 season. (Todd Boyd photo)
Qualifying time trials seen the All Makes Collision Center, Certified Transmission, Nebraska Bullnose, 4Seams Academy, Select Auto Sales Omaha, Kosiski Auto Parts, Omni Inventive Care, We'll Smoke U BBQ, Super Clean, Mars Race Cars No. 53 set the second quickest time in Group B with a time of 20.229 seconds, which was also the second overall best time of the night. Kosiski started third row outside in the fourth and final heat race where he was able to advance two spots to finish fourth. His combined qualifying points placed him second row outside of the 30 lap $3,000 to win main event.
The drop of the green seen Andrew maintain the fourth position until he found the bottom groove was the place to be on lap 4. First AK was able to pass the No. 52 of Brian Kosiski in turn one, and just one lap later he finished making the pass on Todd Cooney in the same spot. Running second Kosiski was able to shave off a little bit of the gap to race leader Tad Pospisil during the course of the race but lap traffic began to play a factor that wasn’t to the advantage of the No. 53. The race saw it first caution flag on lap 27, and after two restarts Andrew just didn’t have anything for Pospisil’s No. 04 coming across the line once again in the second position.
