Four Nights of Racing Ahead at Silver Dollar Nationals
The 10th Annual Imperial Tile Silver Dollar Nationals is next on the card for Andrew Kosiski and Team 53 as they prepare for four nights of racing at I-80 Speedway. The action kicks off Wednesday night with the $5,300 to win Super Late Model Racing (SLMR) Series race followed by three nights of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series competition. (Todd Boyd photo)
Wednesday night the cars and stars of the Malvern Bank West Series and the Hoker Trucking LLC East Series combine for a show down at the prelude to the Silver Dollar Nationals. Kosiski will look to turn his luck around in this event as he only has been able to capture one top ten finish in the last three years. Andrew enters the weekend with two starts this season at I-80 Speedway, both NASCAR Weekly Series races, where he finished 2nd and 8th.
Thursday night the Dirt Track Bank Go50 takes center stage as the Lucas Oil Dirt Series begins three nights of racing at the 4/10th of a mile speedway. This will be a complete show with qualifying, heat races, and feature events. Andrew has competed in all three editions of the Go50 thus far to date, making the show once in 2018 where he finished the race in 20th position.
Friday and Saturday, the largest racing purse in the history of the state of Nebraska will be paid out as the 10th Annual Silver Dollar Nationals begin. Friday night will be dual heat race qualifying, while Saturday the last chance qualifiers and the 101 lap main event take place. Kosiski’s best finish in the main event was 16th in 2016 when he completed all 80 laps that year. Andrew will once again look to make the big show as the best of the best in the dirt late model world will be in attendance for the $53,000 winners purse.
