AK Set For Front Row Starting Spot at the Cornhusker Classic
Andrew Kosiski with the Getzschman Racing Team took to the 4/10th of a mile I-80 Speedway Friday night for night one of the 2020 edition of the Speedway Motors Cornhusker Classic. Kosiski came away with the third highest passing points total for the night earning him a front row starting spot in tonight’s three wide start in the main event.
Andrew started fifth in heat race number one in the All Makes Collision Center , Thrifty Car Rental , Dollar Car Rental , Rocket Chassis No. 18. He would patiently use the bottom side of the speedway early on making his way through the field. Taking the lead on lap 8 of 10, Kosiski went on to win by 1.3 seconds over second place Jacob Hobscheidt.
Heat race number two seen AK start outside the third row, but it was 7th place starter Corey Dumpert getting the lead on lap one as Andrew grabbed the second position on the first circuit. Kosiski would lose ground each lap to No. 77, and when the checkered flew Andrew would be 2.6 seconds behind.
With the win and 2nd place finish Andrew took the third highest passing points total behind Dumpert and Hobscheidt, with starting position selection later today, Kosiski will be on the front row of the three wide start.
